Double page spread ideas

I like all of these layouts for different reasons, i am not looking at what the article is about, I'm looking at how they have been layed out.

I like the little headings above some of the pictures, and the chunks of writing, the only problem with that would be that there wouldn't be alot of writing for this layout.

I like the different fonts for the sections

I like the right side of this picture, because i like how the title is down the side of it.

I like that this one tells a story through the pictures it has on it.

this one is my favorite, i like the collarge of pictures, the only problem is it might be hard to put writing on it, althought i could do my article over to top of the main picture.

Ideas

I have decided i would like to do a magazine, it will be about art, fashion and photography.

target audience: my target audience will be 16-25 year olds, the

ideas on theam of cover and artical:
>rising fashion designer- if i do this, it will be about a young designer from london whos dedication has taken them to russia to so that they could do a russian doll colection.

>real youth lifestyle- i will talk about to best friends who where extreamly close, but there lifestyles have caused them to drift apart, i wil well there story about there child hood and growing up, then about how diffrent there lives no, what has happend?

>being punk- old punks say it is a state of mind, young punks say it it about rebelion and fashion.

>wild young things- when party drugs where first used and how they where fashonable, someons story

name ideas:
my target audience is teenagers and young adults, to the age of about 25. so the name will be something youthful and something that they can relate to.

> All the small things

>first and forever

>rebelion

>wild young things

cover layout:
> i was thinking of  making my cover quight bright and colourfull because i think it will relate to my target audience.
> the cover will not be to simple because if it does it could seem quite old, a young mind can be quite unsure so if there is quite alot going on it, the idea of it will seem like it is a young persons mind.

Research media texts

Researching media texts

I have decided to do a magazine for my coursework.

Vogue
Analysing
Layout: the layout or this is typical to most magazines, it uses the rule of thirds to make it more visualy interesting, there is writing around the edges of the cover, the main articales headings are in a different colour to the rest of the articales, in this instance it is in red. The name of the magazine is behind the  rest of the of the main picture this could sugest that it is not as important as the rest of stuff on the front cover, or it could be cecause you know the name of the magazine you dont need to be reminded of it constantly. there is a big picture in the middle which dominated most of the page, this could be because it is important to the theam of the artical for the paticular month it is made for, usualy the big picture has a double page spread to go with it within the magazine. there are also lots of other small headings which tell you what is in ther rest of the magazine. also on the front  there is a barcode and the month that the magazine was made for, there also is the price.

Colour: the main body of text is a very deep read, this could show, love and pashion, it is also a feminin colour and indicate that she has a strong sexuality. the background is a plain cream/ white, this shows that it isn't that important, and the magazine is not trying to show something through the background. the rest of the writing is eather in black or white, this makes it stand out but it doesnt as much as the red bits.

Lighting: the lighting is quite high key, but it is also soft, this could conect to the nature of the articels in side, they could he Quite soft and light hearted.

Background/ props/ costumes: The backgroung is quight plain, there is some shadowing in the backgroung, but apart from that it is just a cream colour. there are know props used on this cover. she is drest in a blouse with ruffels on it, but it is not low cut, and suggests she is quite inocent. it is very feminine without being revealing.

Sexuality: she is now showing a very strong sexuality, her pose sugests that she could be, this is sugested with the way her head is tilted, but the way she is holding her arm suggests she can be quite in sacure and she is inocent.

Gender: this magazine is aimed at women mostly

Age and class: this is aimed at women from the ages of about 25 onwards, probably to late 40s. it is aimed at As and Bs.
